Greater Manchester's green belt plan to be delayed a third time

After the original 'spatial framework' plans were scrapped last year, the re-written version was scheduled for June 2018. Since being delayed till July, this has now been pushed back to the Autumn.


New population forecasts released by the Office for National Statistics project lower growth than local leaders had originally envisaged.


This potentially means fewer houses will be needed, and therefore the spatial framework plans could be re-written a third time.


Friends of Bamford have been supporting Save Bamford Greenbelts efforts to scrap plans for luxury housing development on the community football fields.


It is important we keep up the momentum and awareness with this. On 16th June 2018 Friends of Bamford will have a float on Norden Carnival in collaboration with Save Bamford Greenbelt.
