Thanks to the community spirited volunteers who turned up this morning to do a litter pick on the Green Belt, football fields and Bamford Green opposite Tesco.
The community rallied together and managed to collect 14 full bin bags of litter, plus a fire extinguisher, a walking stick, a radio, a still-sealed bottle of what appeared to be whisky, not to mention loads of empty wine bottles, plastic bottles and paper cups, and far too many bags of dog poo thoughtfully left in the hedgerows and long grass for others to move. We didn't even get to Jowkin Lane.
We are fighting hard to prevent building on this land and retain our beautiful green belt. Please don't abuse it. Take your litter home and dispose of it properly.
